Over the past 2 months, we have witnessed a growing number of ATM Bombings and Heist Robberies in our community. This is a great concern to the residents, we need to stand up and do something about this.
During these robberies, residents are affected in a negative way and their lives are put in danger. Criminals are disrespecting our community and don’t care about our lives and peace. Every time there’s a Bombing and a shootout, community members are left distraught and traumatized. Some people don’t recover well after experiencing a gruesome crime scene and being shot at. Some community members experience nightmares and can’t sleep at night fearing that their houses will be bombed.
Crime in our community is growing and the impact it has on the victims and the continuing trauma, is something that we do not often talk about. There is no adequate support for victims of crime and they go through their lives with the trauma and anxiety.
During the ATM bombing at the Ritz Shops on 11 May 2022, the houses nearby suffered cos their windows and appliances were broken.
