Coach Nomonde is bringing Aerobics to your doorstep this Youth Month

Are you looking for aerobics classes in Soweto? Look no further. If you have ever walked past a packed gym hall in Soweto and felt the energy pulsing through the walls, chances are Mrs. Nomonde Gail Khabane Matatanya was inside leading the charge. A professional personal trainer and passionate aerobics coach based in Orlando West, Nomonde has been transforming bodies and changing lives since 2016 — and this Youth Month, she is bringing her high-energy aerobics classes to Soweto’s own doorstep.

She currently instructs at some of Soweto’s most established fitness facilities, including Maponya and Westgate gyms, as well as Winchester, Move and Motion Gym in the East Rand — and her sessions are always full.

Through her company, Make It Work, Nomonde has built a reputation not just as a coach, but as a mentor, sister figure, and health ambassador to everyone who trains with her.

Nomonde’s philosophy is refreshingly simple and sustainable. “You do not need a special diet — just work out consistently and burn fat without fail,” she says.

Her biggest warning? Fat. “Our common enemy is too much fat in the body because it causes cholesterol, which thins our arteries and forces the heart to pump harder — leading to high blood pressure,” she explains.

“Many people I have trained don’t take me as a coach — they take me as their sister. I have a special gift of bonding with people, and I give every single trainee undivided attention, regardless of how many are in the hall.”

Nomonde Matatanya,

The programme caters for all fitness levels and is structured around two main categories: High Impact training — which includes Box, Step, and Step and Box workouts — and a second category of Zumba and Functional Training, making it accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

This June, in celebration of Youth Month, Nomonde is launching her aerobics programme in Orlando West in partnership with Golden Empire, under the leadership of Mr. Thabo Dipudi. The monthly fee is an accessible R150.00 — a small investment for a healthier, stronger and more confident you.

Nomonde also runs two boot camps a year, where participants train for six and a half hours alongside fifteen to sixteen instructors — the first of which took place on 25 April 2026 at Lichaba in Orlando, with the next planned for 26 September 2026.

Whether you want to reduce stress, improve your lifestyle, boost your self-esteem or simply feel good in your body again, this programme is your opportunity.

To register or find out more, contact Mr. Dipudi on 084 736 8613 or 066 130 9086. Your health journey starts now.
