It all started December 2013, I was on a queue to view Nelson Mandela’s deceased body and I was so inspired by his magnitude, having a state force organise buses to view his dead body! This made me decide to change my life so that I can fill at least a portion of his shoes.
I didn’t know at the time what I wanted to do but I knew I had to do something because my work was feeling monotonous and I felt it was time to change.
The following January a friend asked me to accompany her to a meeting she had with a certain life coach. I joined their meeting and I absolutely fell in love with life coaching.
Got qualified as a life coach same year and I felt I had found what I wanted to do, and since I love to talk, I might as well do it as a business. When I left the engineering job I was already doing well in another business of network marketing, the plan was to use the money from that to build the coaching business.
Little did I know how much I didn’t know about starting a business. I failed so fast.
That’s the reason why I do what I do now.
I help young entrepreneurs with tools to overcome the problems that they face in their businesses. Both in-business entrepreneurs and those aspiring to become entrepreneurs.
Our education system is not designed to equip us with the knowledge of starting or running a business, therefore finding ourselves facing new challenges that often times force us to give up. Not because we lack the passion but rather the know how of dealing with the challenges.
Common challenges like: struggling to focus on tasks, time wasted on unproductive habits, time management, compliance documents, procrastination and doing everything by yourself.
My inspiration comes from having faced the same challenges and I used the life coaching tools to help me stay in businesses.
I’m happy to be sharing the same tools with a lot of young people.
Good story and very inspiring @coach Ama
