Bopasenatla Secondary receives a Technology Lab to empower future entrepreneurs

On 24 February 2026, Regent Business School proudly handed over a state-of-the-art iLead LAB to Bopasenatla Secondary School in Diepkloof, Soweto, during a well-attended ceremony at the school’s premises on Tuesday morning. The launch was attended by the officials from the Gauteng Department of Education, community leaders, teachers, and learners.

Valued at nearly half a million rand, this marks the third such donation by Regent —a private higher education institution with campuses across South Africa—in the past three years.

We spoke to Hoosen Essof, Chief Innovation and Student Experience Officer at Regent Business School. He shared that this is the third technology lab the institution has donated in the past three years. Bopasenatla was selected, he explained, because it is a well-managed and disciplined school with highly motivated learners and staff.

“We were impressed by the school’s leadership, discipline, and commitment to excellence,” Essof noted, adding that Regent plans to donate one technology lab every year for the next ten years as part of its long-term investment in education and innovation across South Africa.

The iLead LAB is a world-class technology hub equipped with three 3D printers to unleash creativity and entrepreneurial potential, a laser cutting machine, sublimation printing equipment for custom T-shirts, cups, key rings, and more to inspire side hustles, and VR headsets for immersive virtual experiments. It also features a smart board for interactive learning.

Teachers have been thoroughly trained to integrate the programme seamlessly into the school’s curriculum and subjects, with Regent committing ongoing support to ensure long-term success. The initiative aims to prepare learners for the Fourth Industrial Revolution by fostering skills in technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

This generous donation opens new doors for Bopasenatla’s learners, exposing them to practical tools that can spark business ideas or future careers in tech.

“We are truly grateful to Regent Business School for this incredible investment in our learners,” said Principal Mr. Radzuma. “The iLead LAB is not just a donation of equipment — it is a doorway to opportunity. It will expose our learners to technology, innovation and entrepreneurship in ways we have never experienced before. This lab will change mindsets, unlock creativity and prepare our learners to compete in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

On behalf of Bopasenatla Secondary School, we sincerely thank Regent for believing in our school and our children.”
